Who decides
Every event on OurStudentParty is run by an Organizer — a parent committee, PTO, booster club or school group. We collect payments for tickets, donations and sponsorships on that Organizer's behalf and pass the money on to them, and the Organizer decides whether and when to give refunds. Organizers should post their refund policy on their event site; if they don't, ask them before you pay.
How to ask for a refund
- Open the event site and use the contact link, or reply to your receipt email. Can't find your receipt? Our help page, Help recognizing STDT_PARTY* card charges, can email it to you again.
- Include the name on the registration and the date you paid.
- The Organizer can approve a full or partial refund directly from their dashboard.
How refunds are paid
Approved refunds go back to the card you paid with. Most banks show the refund within 5–10 business days. Payments made in cash or by check are refunded by the Organizer directly.
Fees on refunds
- Our platform fee: not charged on a payment that is fully refunded.
- Card processing fees: not returned by the card processor on refunds.
Organizers can choose to cover these fees so the payer gets back the full amount.
Donations
Donations are generally final. If you made a mistake — the wrong amount, or a duplicate — contact the Organizer as soon as possible, and they can refund it.
If an event is canceled
If an event is canceled, the Organizer decides how to handle refunds and should tell registrants promptly. We help Organizers refund everyone at once.
If you can't reach the Organizer
Email [email protected]. We will contact the Organizer for you and help resolve it. Please try this before disputing the charge with your bank — a chargeback can take weeks and costs the event an extra fee.
For Organizers
OurStudentParty has no subscription or setup fee, so there is nothing to cancel or refund when you close your account. If you think a fee was charged in error, tell us within 60 days and we will fix it.
